Privacy Policy

Last updated: 27 June 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how M-Base Technologies (Pty) Ltd, a private company registered in Namibia (registration number 2025/0202) and trading as Meyabase ("Meyabase", "we", "us", or "our"), collects, uses, and protects personal information when you visit meyabase.com (the "Site").

This policy covers the Site only. Our products — such as Translate, Contribute, Silosset, Locum, and Tendiflow — are separate services, each with its own privacy policy. This policy does not apply to them.

Information we collect

We aim to collect as little personal information as possible. Depending on how you use the Site, we may collect the following:

  • Technical and usage data — collected automatically when you visit, such as your IP address, browser type and version, device information, the pages you view, and the date and time of your visit. This is recorded in standard server logs by our hosting provider.
  • Analytics data — aggregated, largely anonymous information about how visitors use the Site (for example, which pages are most visited), collected through a privacy-focused web analytics service.
  • Cookies and similar technologies — small files stored on your device. The Site uses only essential cookies by default; any non-essential cookies (such as analytics) are used only where permitted through our cookie consent banner. See “Cookies and consent” below.
  • Information you provide — if you contact us by email or, where available, submit a form or sign up to a newsletter on the Site, we collect the information you choose to give us, such as your name, email address, and the content of your message.

We do not knowingly collect special categories of personal data through the Site, and we do not ask you to provide them.

How we use your information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Operate, maintain, and secure the Site;
  • Understand how the Site is used so we can improve it;
  • Respond to your enquiries and communicate with you;
  • Send you updates or newsletters where you have asked to receive them; and
  • Comply with our legal obligations and protect our legal rights.

Where data-protection law requires a legal basis for processing your personal information, we rely on the following:

  • Consent — for non-essential cookies, analytics, and any marketing or newsletter emails. You may withdraw your consent at any time.
  • Legitimate interests — for operating and securing the Site and understanding its use in aggregate, where those interests are not overridden by your rights.
  • Legal obligation — where we must process information to comply with the law.

Cookies and consent

Cookies are small text files placed on your device. We use essential cookies that are necessary for the Site to function. We use non-essential cookies — such as analytics cookies — only with your consent, which we request through a cookie consent banner when you first visit the Site.

You can accept or reject non-essential cookies through that banner, and you can change your choice at any time. You can also control or delete cookies through your browser settings, although disabling essential cookies may affect how the Site works.

Analytics

We use a privacy-focused web analytics service to understand, in aggregate, how visitors use the Site — for example, which pages are viewed most often. This helps us improve the Site. The analytics we use are designed to respect your privacy and, where possible, do not identify you personally.

Analytics are enabled only where you have consented through our cookie banner, where consent is required.

How we share information

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing. We share information only with the service providers that help us run the Site, and only as far as necessary for them to provide their service to us. These include:

  • Our hosting provider, which operates the servers that deliver the Site and maintains server logs;
  • Our analytics provider, which processes usage data on our behalf;
  • Our email provider, where we correspond with you or send updates you have requested.

We may also disclose information where required to do so by law, or to protect our rights, safety, or property, or those of others.

International data transfers

Some of our service providers may store or process information on servers located outside Namibia. Where this happens, we take reasonable steps to ensure that your information continues to be protected to a standard consistent with this policy and applicable law.

Data retention

We keep personal information only for as long as we need it for the purposes described in this policy, or for as long as the law requires.

  • Server logs and analytics data are kept for a limited period and then deleted or anonymised;
  • Email correspondence and any information you submit through the Site are kept for as long as needed to deal with your enquiry and for our records, and are then deleted.

You may ask us to delete information we hold about you at any time — see “Your rights” below.

Your rights

Subject to applicable law, you have the following rights in relation to your personal information:

  • Access — to ask for a copy of the information we hold about you;
  • Correction — to ask us to correct information that is inaccurate or incomplete;
  • Deletion — to ask us to delete your information;
  • Objection and restriction — to object to, or ask us to restrict, certain processing;
  • Withdrawal of consent — to withdraw any consent you have given, at any time, without affecting processing carried out before withdrawal;
  • Portability — to ask us to provide certain information to you in a portable format; and
  • Complaint — to lodge a complaint with a competent data-protection authority.

To exercise any of these rights, please contact us at support@meyabase.com. We will respond within a reasonable time and as required by law.

Children’s privacy

The Site is not directed at children under the age of 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

Security

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal information against loss, misuse, and unauthorised access. However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Where changes are significant, we will take reasonable steps to bring them to your attention. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
